Specialised Scientific Council and Post-Graduate Study Programme


Pursuant to the Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science Order No. 274 of 25 April 2002 "On Establishing the Post-Graduate and Doctorate Study Programme and Approving the Prototype Programme of Entrance Examinations for Candidates", the post-graduate and doctorate course was launched at the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Ecological Problems in the following disciplines:
  • 11.00.11 - Constructive Geography and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources;
  • 21.06.01 - Environmental Safety (Technical Sciences).
According to the Order No. 20 issued by the Supreme Attestation Commission of Ukraine on 20.03.2000 "On the Establishment of a Specialised Scientific Council", the Specialised Scientific Council D64.812.01 was established at the Institute to run the defence procedure for doctoral dissertations in the technical speciality field 21.06.01 "Environmental Safety".

According to the Resolutions of the Supreme Attestation Commission of Ukraine (No. 24-08/9, No. 21-07/8, No. 19-07/8, No. 15-07/1, and No. №31-07/01 of 08.11.2000) the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Ecological Problems enjoys the status of a leading scientific organization authorized to run the dissertation defence procedure for the following disciplines: 21.06.01 (Technical Sciences), 11.00.11, 03.00.10, 11.00.07 and 11.00.09 (Geographical Sciences).

The role of the Specialised Scientific Council is to ensure that a dissertation proposed for a preliminary review and/or defence is up to the highest standard; provide a highly qualified feedback on the submitted material with regard to its quality, topicality, and innovative/theoretical/practical value; focus the research efforts of candidates on such important issues as the improved environmental safety and sustainable management of natural resources in Ukraine.
